Excerpt from Computing Jetons This monograph is based upon an address delivered by the author before the American Numismatic Society, in New York City, on February 7, 1921. The purpose is set forth in the monograph itself, but the author wishes to take advantage of a prefatory page to express his appreciation of the kindness of the officers of the Society in asking him to prepare the address for publication. He also wishes to acknowledge the courtesy of George A.
